I recently bought a Fujitsu server and was surprised to find out that the onboard sata connectors were connected to some embedded LSI thing. Not C as i was expecting maybe some sort of C rebrand?? Only one thing can be on the bare metal. Either Hyper-V or Windows. A lot of people mistakenly put Windows on there then try to switch to Hyper-V, which will work but is obviously an extra step and, more importantly, creates all kinds of long term issues that might not be obvious at the beginning of the project but will certainly get you later on. So to answer you You can put Windows on first, but you'll have to replace it.

It's best practice to never do that. Hyper-V should always be installed directly and never with Windows first. It looks like I am going to have to go the KVM route.
